Eric K. Smith is the “EKS” behind EKS Legal Solutions.  Eric has been a practicing employment lawyer since 1995 and is a member of both the Georgia and Tennessee Bars.  Eric is also a certified mediator.

Eric began his legal career in 1995 with Fisher & Phillips and then joined Littler Mendelson in 1997. Eric became a Shareholder at Littler in 2003, and remained with that firm for over seventeen years before starting EKS Legal Solutions at the beginning of 2015. Eric has extensive experience and expertise in a wide array of employment law, business law, and HR-related topics, including: post-employment covenants, trade secret law, and the law relating to unfair competition; unlawful discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; workplace investigations; employment policies and procedures; hiring, performance-management, and discharge; family/medical leaves; disability accommodation; and employment law and “best practices” training.


Eric is also a seasoned and accomplished litigator, having represented clients in hundreds of employment and non-compete cases in both state and federal court.
